Francis Molton is known to have worked in St Lawrence steps Norwich around c.1820.
The 8 inch mahogany case is set with a concave brass bezel and has ebony stringing. The adjustment of the set hand is by a rather unique method using a cogged spindle which no other maker appears to have used.
The thermometer box is original but the plate and thermometer are replacements together...
